Miriam Laurence's Integrated Acting System enables actors to discover an individualized technique. Classes are supportive and ongoing, with special attention paid to the process of constructive feedback. Generally, actors have found that taking more than one session adds to their process. It builds their technique and forces them to take risks more effectively than does going from teacher to teacher.
All classes make use of integrated acting exercises drawn from far-ranging sources. Training encompasses relaxation, vocal, physical and sensory techniques, emotional connectivity and scene study. Miriam Laurence’s Integrated Acting System leads towards highly skilled and intuitive acting in theatre, television and film.
4-5 hour classes are held on Saturdays or Sundays in the afternoon-early evening at a downtown location. View the Sessions Schedule for more. Read more on the philosophy behind the Integrated Acting System.
FROM THEATRE TO FILM
Through rigorous and far-ranging training techniques, theatre-trained actors investigate a personalized path of self-discovery that they can apply to both theatre and film acting. In a supportive environment, actors gain the freedom, the information, and the knowledge to explore the many choices available to them while developing their own individual technique and acting style. Varied method approaches, reading and audition techniques, monologues and scene study. All work is filmed and special attention is paid to the technique of acting with the camera.
